There are many thick forests throughout the Empire, which become pine forests towards the north. The deeper forests hide Forest Goblins, Chaos warbands and Orcs.
The Forest of Shadows covers much of Ostland, to the north of the Middle Mountains. It lies on the road between Middenheim and Kislev, and is home to many bandits and Chaos warbands.
The Reikwald Forest lies south of Altdorf, between the Reik and the Grey Mountains. The main road to Bretonnia goes through the forest, which is the home of Imperial outcasts.
The Drakwald Forest is situated around Middenheim. It is a sparse birch forest too infertile to cultivate. The road between Marienburg and Middenheim runs through here.
The Great Forest is an old and vast woodland, stretching from the Middle Mountains to Nuln, and Altdorf to Kislev. With the other forests of the Empire, it forms a continuous block of woodland, dominating the central Empire.
